Football Last two FC United fixtures this week - including 'kids go free' on Saturday

First up FC are at home on Wednesday night to Ashton United, who we had an exciting 2-2 draw with a couple of weeks ago.

Then on Saturday it's the final game against Matlock Town and Youth United Day, where under 18s get in free and there are various other events on for kids.

I know United are playing Spurs at 12.45pm, but if you're without a ticket, fancy watching it in the pub near Gigg Lane or need somewhere to take the kids after, there's plenty going on.

YUD information can be downloaded here.

The following events and workshops have been confirmed so far:

o Drama workshop
o Rap ‘n’ rhyme showcase and workshop
o Banner making
o Drumming workshop
o Face painting
o Badge making
o Football skills training
o Emergency services representatives
For a photo montage of a previous Youth United Day, click here .

Despite the 4-1 defeat on Saturday, Boston's fans stopped to applaud FC's for the incredible atmosphere they created throughout the match, and it should be even better on Saturday to round off the season.

All welcome, cheers.

For those not at OT the Spurs game will be on in all the local pubs around Gigg Lane and in the Gigg Lane Social Club.

You're not wrong but if you wanna do both for the last time this season then make it easy on yourself.

Drama workshop?

Quite interested in the rap 'n' rhyme though.

Is it open mic or do you have to pre-book a spot?

Always fancied spitting some rhyme and telling it like it is about life in inner city Bury:

I'm going for a Derek B middle-aged white man UK rap style*:

Two years ago, a friend of mine
Asked me to spit some real life rhyme
About the shit that this town's about
Black puddings, a world famous market and a steam raliway no doubt**

The peeps, the place, the up's and the downs
The reason why people all wear a frown.
But it aint that bad, you must surely dig,
The guy in Cosmos cafe used to wear a wig.

Boom!

Just a taster y'all. Have to get yourselves down to rap 'n' rhyme for the full-on 12" version.

Peace.

* Dad rap
** will try and re-work this line.
