Kent Brockman

Default Veron

Interesting story about the impact he is making back at his home club:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...ls/7286682.stm

Remember the buzz I felt when we signed him. It felt like we were moving on to another level by attracting some of Europe's best to the club. Shows what I know about football.

For what we paid for Ruud and Veron, we could have signed Zidane. Ruud scored a lot of goals but imagine putting Zidane in the treble team.

He'd be on the bench, keane and Scholes were immense, then there was Butt.

Yeah, but you should have seen what he did in training.

Keane has admitted he made it difficult for Veron to settle in. We'll never know how many European Cups that cost us. He was class Veron but too little of what he did came off because the players around him weren't on the same wave length.

Yeah but your watch was bought from a lucky lucky man in Tenerife you called 'bro'. It doesn't work and the Tag badge has fallen off inside the face.

Both Serenity and I are a little sad that it didn't work out for Veron.

And I'm still upset that we never signed Crespo, Lopez and Sorin shortly after.

Or at least got one of them as part of the payment for Stam.

What ever happened to Claudio Lopez? He was incredible at Valencia.

After the Spurs 3-5 game I had a £#%&! over Verons performance.

And I'm not ashamed to admit it.

Great player in the wrong league.

Claudio Lopez, for a while, was to me what Ronaldo is to SAF.

I don't know why, it was just one of those love affairs that is hard to explain. An unrequired affair I might add, one that never had the chance to blossom.

I'm off to stare out the front window and ponder what might have been.

It's windy and drizzling a little. There's a man slumped in a hedge, special brew in one hand needle in the other, and a young lad £#%&!ing some tracksuit wearing slag up against a Citreon Saxo.
