Default Sky loses La Liga rights

to BT. Or rather, pulled out of the bidding process after pissing £11m a match away on PL rights.

Quote:
The move will leave Sky's dedicated European football channel, Sky Sports 5, with just Dutch and Scottish football on top of their Premier League coverage.

BT Sport's channel equivalent will show Germany’s Bundesliga, Italy’s Serie A, France’s Ligue 1 and Portugal’s Primeira Liga next season, on top of the Champions League.
lol

They've already increased the monthly subscription for BT's european matches - like it or not. I do like though, so not complaining.

TV XL increased by £3 a month for all Champions League football in HD.
Was worried it would be something daft like a tenner a month for a new channel, £3 is spot on

Sky must think they're giving BT enough rope to hang themselves.

Very dangerous game. I remember reading that over 50% of Sky's TV customers subscribe because of the football.

Doubt Murdoch gives a £#%&! about the 10 men and a dog that tuned in to watch barcelona win 6-0 against Manuel Pacotilla every week tbh, he's still sore letting Osbourne and that Cameron #@&%! bum him in return for helping his final career push to kill the BBC

Hope BT do the right thing and allow BBC proper access to highlights packages just to piss Sky off even more

Would love a third player to come in and kill Sky off
