Martinelli says he made four trips from his home in Brazil to train with United’s youth team – including linking up with Mason Greenwood.

But the Red Devils decided against offering him a deal – with Arsenal snapping him up ahead of Barcelona and Real Madrid.

If we improved just a BIT, we could get top four.

Everyone falling over themselves to screw it up.

Just watching the Chelsea highlights.

How comes Luiz was sent off? I thought a new rule came in where if the ref gives a pen then he can only give a yellow for stopping a goalscoring opportunity

The ruling is that he pushed the bloke, it was an avoidable action.

If it's a legitimate attempt to win the ball in a tackle it's harsh to have the double penalty when it's the only thing a defender can do. So it's a sort of de-escalation. Doesn't apply when it's avoidable, like pushing, deliberate handball, or serious foul play.

Quote:
Where a player commits an offence against an opponent within their own penalty area which denies an opponent an obvious goal-scoring opportunity and the referee awards a penalty kick, the offending player is cautioned if the offence was an attempt to play the ball; in all other circumstances (e.g. holding, pulling, pushing, no possibility to play the ball etc.) the offending player must be sent off.

Anyone see Bruno for sporting?

Play well? Hold a green and gold scarf up as he walked off?

Fair play to Everton, they do a lot of things for the local community. Shame they had to use a real photo of Holgate though.
