But a mate of my dad's - a big Blackburn fan who was acquainted with some of the people at the club - said at the time that SOP was absolutely gutted that Walker had stopped him joining us, and everybody there knew it.

“Chose his boyhood club” my arse.
Why didn't he sign for us in 92 then?

Money I'd imagine.

Thought he could make some money at Blackburn first and sign for us later?

Plus we were just a little bit successful between 1992-96 and that might have been a factor too

So, an FA Cup & a ECWC in the previous 2 seasons wasn't successful enough for a S'hampton striker?

Thumbs up

good stuff, that. comfortable win against the sort of team we should be beating comfortably. in previous seasons forest at home is the sort of fixture we'd have shit@#%&!ed our way to a draw or defeat.

Or been hanging on for grim death to a single goal lead at the end, having squandered chance after chance.

Of course still missed a few in this one, a work in progress we remain.

Have you ever enjoyed football? Have you ever enjoyed United winning? You find misery in everything. A bit like Sparky, but nowhere near as interesting.

Incredible from Casemiro. I know it was only Forest but he was all over the pitch.

The kind of run of the mill win we've seen thousands of times at OT. Not too often in the last few years though obv. Was like a comfy pair of slippers.

certainly enjoyed seeing us breaking and multiple players busting a gut to get in the box. 7-0 would not have flattered us (I mean.. obviously, picking a player out with the final ball or better finishing would have been required, but....).

Key difference from recent seasons. Wide players were criticised when there was literally nobody in the box to pass to. In fact, little movement at all.
Just hope this run of fixtures allows us to build on development. Bigger tests to come in a few weeks but at last, signs of progression.
