Had 2 family members go through this in recent years and it’s just sad. But what a £#%&!ing player and what a great life he had. The guy was electric. Scotland’s best ever. Nqat.

What a terrible disease, my Mam is in the advanced stages and she doesn't really remember me, it's heart breaking.

It’ll get most of us. Especially if you’re a bloke.

It’s the biggest health problem facing us going forward and there’s shockingly little treatment available. I’m still quite bitter about my dad being diagnosed with it and the GP sort of going “yeah so you’ve got dementia… bye then”.

£#%&! all they can do, over to age uk to pick up the slack.

It will get quite a few of us, not at all sure about "most". Two of my grandparents lived to 94 and 88, my dad to 78. All were fully in command of their faculties to the end.

There is definitely a genetic element involved as well. Though no, none of that explains why footballers (1970s and earlier, especially) are *much* more likely to get it.
