This. I don’t think they have much of a plan other than not committing to anything now.

Reckon a new deal will be announced before the end of the transfer window, sort of as a 'new signing' type announcement, and that no other business will be done.

Perhaps it's not really that complex.
Pogba feels at home here and has as good a relationship with Ole as he's ever had with a manager

He will want to be part of the scene at PSG though and will leave us next season.
His sense of fairness and genuine fondness for the team will ensure we get a good level of performance from him unless the suits or elements of the crowd pressure him into a commitment his agentand him won't want to make.

Some good points and hard to argue with any of that really, Ronny. As you say on the off chance our record signing and highest paid player doesn’t reach an acceptable level of performance the fans and members of the board who split their time between our London and Tampa offices will have no-one else to blame but themselves.

If I was his agent I'd be saying "don't sign anything until the summer."

I don't see how it's terrible. At best, if things are going fantastic then sign in january.
