Default The 2021 Fitness Thread

how are you going to get fitter this year, you fat slob?

hiking will be my main exercise of choice, with bodyweight exercises and a bit of running thrown in.

also planning to make proper use of my turbo trainer and have a go on zwift.

Continue to smash the gardening. Itís actually landscaping.

Getting a dog too, so will get more walking done.

Might get a heavy bag before the last neurones of fistic skill leave my brain forever. Use it or lose it!

12st8 down from 14st8. Would like to lose another stone and add muscle.

Bit worried how Iíll exercise now the gyms are closed as I found it difficult to do at home.

Will try and do 3 sessions at home and 3 runs per week to try and keep the momentum.

same as last year for me, 3 interval sessions a week, couple of strength workouts, got the nutrition down pretty well and just try to be consistent & hopefully improve

if any racing happens, it's a bonus, but main aim is to qualify again for national hill climb champs again, which is up winnats pass this year!!

also fancy something epic in the summer like a coast to coast, sunrise to sunset ride

There's talk of doing a mountain of hell/megavalanche combo again this year.

Really going to get back on the saddle/give up the ale if that even looks like happening.

Lay off the heavy lifting for a bit because of nagging injuries

I know everyone does the new year stuff but I've been ready for a good few weeks. Just wanted to get Christmas and new year out of the way.

Loads of running. Hoping to be doing half marathons quite regularly. Indoor bike and some resistance band stuff. Also want to be doing lots of hiking.

My main thing is planning and prepping meals. I eat quite well in general but I want to step it up and only be eating proper gear.

Lost half a stone in 2020 - would like to do similar or a bit more this year.

Mainly running and the gym but need to be more consistent- itís all or nothing with me, either being really healthy and doing loads of excercise or doing absolutely nothing

My gym has set up an outdoor marquee with the basics in there for cardio and resistance training.

I've also got a weights bench, dumbbells, pull-up bar, KB etc at home so I should be able to keep ticking over until the gyms re-open (Easter?).
