For a smaller yo-yo club it is, minimises risk of huge losses if you're not selling out, but for Juventus it was a liability not getting full benefit of revenues. Milan are still more like Juventus than say Bari. Marginally.

Said it before, I'll say it again - the potential income from exec boxes, premium tickets etc is huge, and much more important than in the '80s. It's much more lucrative having that than having a ground with tens of thousands of empty seats for all but two games per season. And the Premier League has shown that if you're selling out every week, you can raise ticket prices across the board.

They wouldn't pull in that many.

2007 when they won the champions league they averaged 47K and last time they won the league in 2011 was an average of 53k. Attendances are not at the level of the 90s in Italian football.

Inter are generally the better supported of the two clubs and are the second most followed club in Italy behind Juve.
