we wouldn't only counter attack - we'd probably only have about 3 counter attacks in the entire game

the problem I see is that our possession game isn't cute enough to shift hull - or anyone else - out of their shape. i wish i'd said that earlier tbh

I get that, but you seem to assume that we'll play a certain way because of the formation. I don't necessarily think that's the case.

I think he's gone with 3-5-2 most of the time due to necessity of what he has available (debatable as to whether it worked or he should, but nevertheless. ..). He tends to select it when we're short of genuine full backs. which we will be tmrw.

We do break better in that formation, agreed, but I don't think it's the motivation for selecting it. I guess that's my point.

Aye

The 352 has been out of necessity just like it was for Holland in the World Cup.

Think Throb would prefer a 442 with players shoe horned in. Fergie and DFM may play that but the homie LVG don't.

rafael - smalling - blackett - rojo

valencia - carrick

herrera

di maria - rooney - young

requires rafael and rojo to be defenders, not to go wandering.
