Default The sooner Berbatov gets here the better

We will finally have an out-an-out striker who can actually trap a ball.

This isnt a knee-jerk reaction to tonight, its a fact that Rooney has looked shite for months now. Tevez is brilliant at bringing others into play, so it needs to be him and Berbatov upfront for the Liverpool and Chelsea games.

Rooney has been woeful and needs to spend a prolonged spell on the bench while he works on his first touch, finishing and fitness.

I'm not sure how to reply to this..........

I agree with your Tevez remarks, but still feel that Rooney should be starting...A bit of time on the bench may or may not help our wayne....

I dont know how they will all fit in together or as a two/three...

When Ronaldo comes back it will be even tougher.....SAF must have plans...

Now that Wayne is playing out and out as a number 9 he is actually seeing less of the ball....you cant seem to please all the people all the time..

Go chasing he gets slated

Stays at number 9 he doesn't see a lot of the ball

Never thought i would say this, but he "looks like he NEEDS a goal"

Tevez is just world class.....first name on the sheet after Wes...........

Im blabbering....I'm pissed off.

Tevez is so much better than Rooney now its not true.

When Tevez was first linked to United, I thought of him as a poor mans Rooney. How things change...Tevez has improved his overall game, while Rooney has regressed.

Bench him please SAF.

Tevez at this moment in time is miles ahead of Rooney.........

But in what?

work rate...goals return....Wayne got 18 last year.....Tevez...

Its so close...

they compliment each other and they are OUR strikers.....

Deffo not bench...just shoe horn Berbie in to mix it up....

Crazy happy days....

If we get Berbatov I can't see how Fergie cannot drop Rooney. No way should he be on the pitch over Tevez.

In many ways this is all rooney's fault. Everyone else on the pitch tonight has been magnificent.

I love Tevez, he works his little argie bollox off every game, I am desperate for him to score just to get the ball rolling so to speak, I think he will have a fantastic season, and if we ever (yawn) do get berbs, it's a bloody exciting prospect with the players he will have around him..

ah get posse possebon on...that tune sticks in your head eh

Yeah but Tevez offers so much to the team.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, he is the hub of everything we do good.

What is for certain is that Ronnie cant/wont be left on the bench when he gets to full fitness.

if and when berbatov comes our front three will be rooney - berbatov - tevez, with giggs and nani to come in. ronnie is out for three months (two now?) so i don't think dropping (as opposed to resting) any of those three will be likely.

anyway, for all the shouting on here rooney is doing a very important job for the team this second half. he's not playing badly at all now we've got o'shea on and some control over the centre of the field. most of our attacking penetration is thanks to tevez but it's through rooney that most of the play is moving. in short, it's rooney's presence and movement that is enabling tevez to make his bursts.

Yeah he hasn't been great but our 2 best chances have come from his brilliance. Tevez can run around all he likes but how many chances as he created? He definately looks off the pace though

Indeed.

For starters he is unfit.

Secondly, he cant finish.

Tevez and Ronaldo are both more important to the team.

At the back-end of last season for the most part

Are seriously saying that he is better than Tevez on current form? We know that Ronaldo is our best player. Berbs will be needed for his height and his first touch which is far better than Rooney's.
