Isn't Rafabio trying to make the point that without Rooney, we probably wouldnt have got past Milan? Say what you want about Eric, but I dont ever recall him scoring 4 goals in a tie against a side like Milan.

Rafabio has admitted he started supporting United in '99 so I don't know why he gives his opinions on United players before then.

It was a different era. English wasn't as strong in Europe as it has been for the past few years. Now it seems to be changing maybe? Chelsea and Liverpool not even in the quarters.
