Default Norman Hunter dead

Bites Yer Legs dies.

Way way before my time. Was it him that had the dust-up with Franny Lee and Lee has the better of it? Yes it was.

Lee's windmilling.

Don't think the wee lad lands a single punch.

Hunter on points. Looks bad because he stumbles but in the initial coming together he £#%&!ed Lee up.

More on it here.

Used to deliver Norman's paper when I was a lad.

Subsequently met him a few times through work, really nice fella.

“You lot may all be internationals, and have won all the domestic honours there are to win under Don Revie. But as far as I’m concerned, the first thing you can do for me is chuck all your medals and all your caps and all your pots and all your pans into the biggest £#%&!ing dustbin you can find. Because you’ve never won any of them fairly. You’ve done it all by cheating.”

Clough later opined it had been a mistake to say that, FWIW.

Why didn't we go for Cloughie when we were floundering in the 70's.

I do believe he was considered, but negotiations got stuck on something or other.
