Great day.

Remember when we used to appear in this fixture most seasons.

Used to lose quite a few of them tbh, Fergie didn't really give a toss.

This one was of course an exception

Was a terrible record, think we only won 10 out of 13 we played in.

I can remember two Arsenal defeats and a Liverpool one at Cardiff (still pisses me off - we battered them)

Remember one from the early 90s against Arse when Seaman and Schmeichel both took penalties.

Most on here won’t have a clue tbhJCL tbfPost96.

Alright pure, turn it in...

Remember buzzing at finding a 'next day ' uk paper on holiday in northern france for that game.. Then pure joy at finding a faint 5live signal for opening day of season... Pre digital world unarguably better... Also vivid memories of finding one the following year when Eric got sent off at ibrox.. Huge story for days..

Wembley ‘83, beat the Scousers 2-0, their end half empty and left convinced it was going to be our year to end the title drought.

Beckham’s crossing.

Could have played for us for 20 years. He could easily have adapted to a different role to accommodate young players like Rooney and Ronaldo.

Sent off for a two footed lunge on Steven Pressley.

FFS check this from the independent on that match:

"It will continue to be a costly existence, but one wonders how long United, who start their campaign at home to Queen's Park Rangers, can - or should - tolerate Cantona's fragile temperament. Also, there should be no disguising the fact that United were playing in an unimportant pre-season match and one of their best players was dismissed because he could not cope with a 21-year-old, Pressley, who cannot hold down a regular place in Rangers' first team. Ferguson's Mon Genius is becoming an increasingly costly luxury."

This was just after winning back to back titles with Cantona integral

Wasn’t that the same Steven Presley who got sent off at OT for Coventry a few months later, then was all over the show in a Highfield Road classic towards the end of that season?
