How many managers do you know who’ve stayed at Madrid and Chelsea longer than mourinho?

Some prefer yes men who’d cover for the board.

What has Mourinho even said?

I've just searched for this 'bucket load of excuses' and found zilch...

I don't expect to win the league, but it would be nice to have fun trying.

Yep. Or at least see some vision. It's typically simplistic from Scholes, playing the straight-talking fan from the comfort of the sidelines, but United could have a good, positive season without winning the title. The competition is likely to be fierce. No other league around has six teams with the players/financial resources of the Premier League. Oh and City under Guardiola are fairly decent.

The no excuses for winning the league thing is silly. But we do need to compete, and we do need to start feeling like United again.

Exactly

Saying you hate boring miserable football isn't saying you demand we win the league

An attempt to build exciting football with exciting players .

But Mourinho doesn't do that and we were stupid enough to hire him

OP tweet said he said it. Didn't check it obvs.

Tbh these ex United lads are reminding me of the ex Scouse pundits who flooded the box in the decades after their success. Always feels like the criticism comes from revelling in the idea that it's not the same as their day and that their standards are higher.

Scholes also gets the battery put in his back by BT. He's a dreadful pundit but they want him there whenever United are in trouble.

Were Ferguson's first few years exciting enough and did Neil Webb and Mickey Phelan set the pulse racing

November 1986 we were 19th in the league and happy to finish 11th that season. Hadn't won the league in 20 years.

Completely different.

And he still promoted youth over senior players.
