It's typically simplistic from Scholes, playing the straight-talking fan from the comfort of the sidelines, but United could have a good, positive season without winning the title. The competition is likely to be fierce. No other league around has six teams with the players/financial resources of the Premier League. Oh and City under Guardiola are fairly decent.

The no excuses for winning the league thing is silly. But we do need to compete, and we do need to start feeling like United again.

Tbh these ex United lads are reminding me of the ex Scouse pundits who flooded the box in the decades after their success. Always feels like the criticism comes from revelling in the idea that it's not the same as their day and that their standards are higher.
