Haven't heard it tbh. Though I do know he only spoke Italian and knew a bit about Serie A was because of a Roman girl he was after

"I got the job because of the italian tongue, in more than one way"

some top anecdotes - where he gets escorted away from trouble by the genoese ultras he must have lived some life during that period.

Watched it last night. Some quality stories from the team. It appears they were a bunch of chancers and pretty much made it up as they went along for the first two years. The fact they only paid £650k fornthe rights in the first season shows how shrewd the idea was. Nicola Berti seems like an interesting character. Had to laugh at Ince who claims that fergie begged him to stay and blew him off for Inter.

Great show wasn't it.

Why not just reboot it?

Didn't know about Ince...that Fergie tried to stop it last minute.
Surprised he's still with his mrs, after her making him swap Ronaldo for Jason McAteer

yeah, apparently, that 650k would pay for 4 mins of premier league coverage this season!

How much of that documentary is about Gascoigne? Five minutes in and about 20 tedious references to the fat alcoholic bastard ffs.

Yes, though Gazza still made the occasional "guest" appearance until he left Italy.

Brilliant interview with Ince, so many good memories. Parents wouldn't fork out for Sky so watching Serie A and MOTD was like getting a weekly fix.

This is why Jimbo's little hint at a Gazzetta comeback is futile. It was of its time in an era where many couldn't afford Sky and it provided some much needed football on the TV. Nowadays we're overloaded with it; Soccer AM generation - nobody is going to resurrect Gazzetta.

The European Football Show came in a slot after all the English football for the weekend was finished, and it still couldn't survive

Just watched it. Playing your silent face on the outro hit me right in the £#%&!ing feels. What a show, what a time. Nowt better than going to school on the Monday and trying to imitate Weah, Batigol or Baggio in the playground.

Makes football these days look shallow tbh. 90s was the perfect marriage of the culture, stardom and icons of football, culminating with '99. Ripip
