it was a combination of predictable tactics, a tiring squad perhaps, curious substitutions certainly and stubborn refusal to make timely changes that all stood out

there were of course mistakes made on the field leading to all 4 of Bayern's goals and to each of Rafael's yellow cards. Vidic also hit the crossbar in Munich and Rooney missed a sitter. it could've been different. but then Bayern could've scored another 4 goals at least on top of the 4 they got in the tie.
