But did he really say what time is kick off? I though all games kick off at 3 at that time.

Didn't they have floodlights by then, and thus evening kick-offs?

Was speaking to a guy this week who played against Duncan Edwards.

The guy in question is 72 and works for us, he retires in October, and he casually mentioned that he used to play for West Brom and Burton Albion. So I asked him if he ever played against anyone famous, first words out of his mouth 'I played against Duncan Edwards', proud as punch. Says he never got anywhere near him, unbelievable player. He said the most amazing thing about him was the size of him, just £#%&!ing huge, thighs like tree trucks and a shot like a canon with either foot, best player he ever saw.

Nothing new, I know, but I was impressed that I had bumped into someone that once played against him.

my grandad always speaks of him as the best player he ever seen, from a guy who was watching united from the 50's onwards
looking at videos of him he looks like a true giant of a man and only reached 21 years of age :shakehead:

I once went to the church in Dudley where they have two stained glass windows of him in England kit and United kit. The vicar was really nice, said they get loads of visitors from all over and rabbited on for ages about Duncan's childhood, family, etc.

Visited his grave when over last year with my 12 yr old.

No idea where to start looking when I got there so asked this bit of a rough looking @#%&! where Mr Edwards was

"'....oh Duncan - he's over there down on the right.''

He spoke with affection - like he was the greatest player Wolves ever had and not someone who I suppose turned his back on the local club to play for their then rivals.
