I don't think I've ever been so optimistic going in to a season.

We should win the league at a canter unless Boas hits the ground running and gets the best out of Torres.

We should be there or there about in Europe. If someone else knocks out Barca (Arsenal very nearly did last year) we could win it.

His point about buying David Silva for £25m last summer is a good one.

His point about Barcelona pushing on by looking to buy Fabregas on top of Alexis Sanchez is also decidedly stark in comparison to our business & ambition.

We have 4 central midfielders ffs, one of whom is winger who is now 38. Another everyone hates & should have left by now. We need to buy 2 more, one of which really must be £#%&!ing good.

& yet we're still favourites. Everywhere else in the squad is packed full of talent & depth... just need to sort out the middle of the park & we could be a very good side, not just in regards to winning but in style, which has been AWOL from us for a while.

I make it 6: Fletcher, Anderson, Carrick, Gibson, Giggs & Cleverley.

If Anderson & Fletcher can regain fitness, we'll have enough to compete and will almost certainly win the league. I don't think that's good enough though.

I disagree that we need 2, I'd just like to see Gibson shipped out and a someone decent brought in.

Gibson is surely out of here. Cleverley I'll believe when he's still here in September, regardless of how much I rate him, he's not been given the chance.

Anderson, Fletcher, Carrick & Giggs are the "proper" central mids that are staying & will expect to play.

Neither Anderson nor Fletcher have proven in the last few seasons that they can be relied upon to stay fit for the duration...

We need 2.

Probably win the lge is not good enough?? Do you expect us to just walk it?

We all know centre midfield is weak. Fergie's quite obviously trying to sort it. No point whatsover though in bringing in just anyone decent.
