So, basically, he was angling for a move away, couldn't get the move he wanted to Barca or a longer deal elsewhere so decided to stay for a couple more years?

Delighted.

Least of our problems. Nice guy who can do a job. I highly doubt he'll be starting many matches.

There are plenty of players we need to shift out of the club before him.

Don't have a problem with this.

Top pro with a touch of class, even if he doesn't fit in and can barely move.

I like classy little bastards.

Good. Let's have more players in the dressing room who aren't egotistical, preening £#%&!ers please.

Indeed.

A humble and hard working guy who genuinely seems to love the club, despite being around for it's shittiest part.

no issue with him getting a new deal, if he's going to be used as a squad player mainly.

bit worried we decided to keep him but decided against keeping Herrera?

One was loyal and waited, the other was a greedy little Meacon headed lesbian #@&%!.

Because Nicky butt, Ole and all the coaches see them every day. I’ll trust their judgement.

So yeah...

Three years.

Do you understand what an option is?

Seems like Woody tried his best to get rid of the @#%&! like Ander.

Mata 'agreed to a £45,000-a-week pay cut' to get a two-year contract extension at Manchester United instead of one

Let's say he was on £200,000 per week (for purpose of point). One year is £10.4m

If he takes a pay cut of £45,000, but for a two year deal, he earns £16.1m instead of £20.8m he would have got for same terms over two years. If they activate the third year he earns £24m.

Still not done too badly and let's not make out he has agree to living wage to stay here.
