Sunderland reject West Ham's £6m for Jermain Defoe

It is understood the Hammers will raise their offer for the player who began his career at the east London club.

Defoe, 34, has scored 11 goals in 21 appearances for the Premier League strugglers this season.

i know he's 34 and sometimes goes on a inconsistent runs, but he's worth much more than £6m - def at least £10m+

either way what turnaround in a career, for a moment it seemed like he'd disappear when he went Canada then abruptly came back citing 'home sickness' but he's really kicked on since then!

Yep. Arsenal should have signed him years ago. Good player- was impressed with his overall play when we played sunderland a couple weeks ago.

Mad to think he was playing in the £#%&!ing MLS a couple of years ago
