Default Sunderland reject West Ham's £6m for Jermain Defoe

Quote:
It is understood the Hammers will raise their offer for the player who began his career at the east London club.

Defoe, 34, has scored 11 goals in 21 appearances for the Premier League strugglers this season.

makes sense, they need him to stay up and it'll cost a lot more than that to get relegated

i know he's 34 and sometimes goes on a inconsistent runs, but he's worth much more than £6m - def at least £10m+

either way what turnaround in a career, for a moment it seemed like he'd disappear when he went Canada then abruptly came back citing 'home sickness' but he's really kicked on since then!

A born goal scorer....

I'd take him now for 15/20m

One of the best English strikers of his generation. Strength, power, two footed...

An all round nice guy apparently...
Model pro..

Would love to see him rock up at carrington for a few seasons..the one that got away.... love Jay Jay.

Cracking signing if you need a penalty taker.

Look at the chances he missed in open play at against Liverpool, bang average.

Did he ever appoint that 'assistant' he put an advert out for?

perhaps you shouldn't judge a brilliant career on one game at the tail end of his playing life

He's the 7th top goal scorer of all time in the premier league...just behind fowler...

He's fifth this season in that Sunderland side..

Did I hear right that he's only the fourth player to score double figures in 10 consecutive seasons? Fair £#%&!s if so, he's been a good player but never fully realised his potential.

Apparently fergie wanted him and we had tabled a deal....

He didn't want to leave his family / London...

He'd be close to some of our records by now.
