Well perhaps, although Van Gaal does like a small squad. That's the inherent risk associated so he has to take responsibility, especially when he knows full well he has a few players who are injury prone. But at the same time, better quality in certain areas might have allowed for a tad more rotation, which may have helped against PSV, when we did look £#%&!ed.

Still, any team with eight or nine players out is going to feel it.

Whats arbitrary about the last 14 games we will have played dunk?

@riccers, we've only been in an injury crisis for the last few games. What was the excuse earlier?

According to Injury Room, Bournemouth have 10 players out injured to our 9. Cripple off in prospect.

Young at FB today? Varela and CBJ did well in the week at times, but there was a loss of defensive cohesion, expected when personnel changes at it did.

Don't understand why there's any excuse, he sold league winning players, perfectly good options - he's spent his money, he's nearly 18 months in, not 6.

It's on him. We're £#%&! & he's the only one who can change that.

I hope we keep the same youthful look as Wolfsburg & the attacking vigour, could be the fillip we need to kick on & stop being sideways shite.

There's been a marked distinction in the attacking threat when our opponents are actually trying to engage us in a football match. We go to Everton, Southampton, Wolfsburg etc and look dangerous and score goals, but struggle against £#%&!ing Palace and Newcastle.

The side to side stuff is a way to break down deep defences, used by Barcelona and Bayern. It's just got to be performed at a much better tempo with better movement. In an open game, which hopefully this might be, we are able to use fewer passes and find space easier.

Why 14? Why not the last 20 or 21?

This. Felt alright about losing due to the way we approached the game. Same again please.

Not sure that would be very good either given how we ended last season

So by 'last 14 games' he means just league games? we've played 15...

We've played 25 games this season, why are we measuring from 14 games ago?

Um, because it is an arbitrary figure

Nope, it's pretty much definitely because Louis has just said "have a go at them today lads"

He's famously simple in his instructions to players tbf.

take a similar stat at the end of september and we'd won 10 of the last 12.

neither tell the full story in isolation.

We were never dominant attacking wise in those games though, and once every shot of ours stopped going in we began to drop points regularly. That's why the last 14 games are a decent starting point because what many worried about at the time of us scraping by Wolfsburg and Southampton came true.

It was never sustainable to keep winning while only creating 2/3 chances a game.

So it's the last 14 games because that better serves the purposes of your argument/agenda

You know saffers, I have no idea what is arbitrary about that

And how many of those 14 were away? Must be about 9 at least..

As good as we could have hoped, I suppose.

Be a really good win if we can scrape this.
