All the morning papers are running with £8m fee for Da Silva. Have seen very little of him, but based on his record and reputation that seems quite reasonable to me.

There's no doubt Wenger has bought some lemons but his transfer dealings have generally proved more astute than saf's.

Jeffers and Hleb come under the 'lemons' but i'd give both Walcott and Reyes a little more time.

I'd be interested to see how the net spending works out for saf and wenger since 1996.
