Atletico just confirmed signings of Forlan and Riquelme for 21m

If they get those two for Torres I'd say that's a pretty good piece of business.

They've agreed the double deal with Villarreal. They still have to convince both players - particularly Riquelme - to sign.

So they have agreed the deals in principle then?

I'm sure Villareal will have had words with them before agreeing the deal.

Obviously could still fall down on wages or whathaveyou but i reckon it will go through.

Not particularly reliable, but that's the story.

Not sure Riquelme will want to go to Atletico, tbh.

AS are often full of shit, but they're not just full of shit. They had the stories about Capello sacking today and Coleman in there yesterday (for example)

The BBC understands that talks between Atletico and the bindippers are at an advanced stage and now this news is out which is also being picked up by the PA (which a lot of the shite from AS isn't).

Apparently his wage demands are rather high. Athletico are going to be skint if it falls through.

Can't see Riquelme going there - especially now Garcia off.

Behave yourself - you said 'i'll believe it when i see it' regarding the Forlan and Riquelme story.

I said in relation to those signings 'that Torres should be on his way' he still should. He will be, barring any wage hiccups - I know it and you know it.

FWIW, AS are reporting that Riquelme has turned down the move to Atleti.

Thought as much. He was never going to go there.

Yep, completely unimaginable. Preposterous. That would have probably been the most outrageous, quite unbelievable, nah, the most earth shattering transfer of modern times.

South american goes from one mid-table Spanish club to another.

Crazy days.

I'm still sceptical, £27 million + £31 million in wages is a hell of a lot to spend.
