Alex Ferguson is doing a brilliant job.

The ability to make a 5 yard pass wasn't down to tactics it was down to nerves and knowing, in the back of their minds, that a draw would do.
Players, especially United ones, get confused with playing for a draw. It's more complicated, there is more to think about. Conceding a goal clarified the situation.

We've seen it time and time again. I felt sick the first half but I felt sick at United plenty of times in the treble season.

As for saying Mourinho is good tactically; he, like fergie, has ONE tactic that works for him. Beyond that they are both £#%&!ed.

Carrick looked like a uefa player in the first half. Giggs barely completed a pass. Ronaldo was laying the tricks on too heavy. Rooney was having a beard half. And then Benfica scored.

Well I think given that it appears United are doing well in spite of Fergie rather than because of him - the importance of the manager's role is exagerrated, so there is really no need to change anything in that department.
