Exclamation Jamie Redknapp: "For history, go to Manchester United, for the future, go to City"

Quote:
Manchester City now tick all the boxes. They have the manager, the players, the owners, everything they need to become one of the Premier League’s greatest teams.

If I was a young player now and had my choice of club, I would choose Pep Guardiola’s City without doubt. They are building towards a powerful dynasty.
Manchester United have won 20 league titles and City have long been in their shadow but the boys in sky blue now have the biggest pull for players. If you want history, go to United. If you want the future, go to City. That is the way it feels now with the platform they have.

Funnily enough he wrote the exact same article four years ago

Quote:
After the match I was talking to Graeme Souness and we agreed that if we were to have our careers again in the present day then we, and any current young player, would want to join City. That is the club where you want to be.

Man United have dominated English football for so long and though City might not have the history, they have the future.

OP: try quoting a more irrelevant, clueless, nondescript #@&%!. Makes Savage look incisive.

Apologies to those who think he’s a genius on account of being related to Lampard.

Ad-hominem aside, he's probably got a point, looking at it from the perspective of the majority of players.

I don't remember this much glee when we didn't win the title in the past. Literally everybody is giving us a kicking, despite being nowhere near city since before Christmas.

I know everybody hates us, but have they ever taken this much joy in it?
