You can only compare like with like unless you say most influential in which case time comes into the equation. Fabregas' comparison is Scholes not Keane and it's not even close.

I was reading an old RI on the shitter (from 2002ish) and the general consensus was that Giggs and Scholes should be binned.

If you had to choose a midfielder for importance and meaning to a team and forget attack and defence for a moment then Keane it has to be.

He was like what Wellington said about Napoleon, his presence alone was worth 30,000 men!

Its a difficult one because Keane was such an important and influential player, but Scholes was the better, more complete footballer.

I've never seen a player have an effect on a team as much as Keane did, but I've never seen a better midfielder in terms of ability than Scholes.

They were both the best of their 'type' in the last 20 years.
