Re: Which transfer has got you the most 'excited'?
Ronaldo, I'd been following his development for awhile and was always convinced he'd go on to be one of the absolute best players. When we signed him it was something I never dreamed we would do, we just didn't go around buying the future world player of the years. for me it was the equivalent of signing zidane before he made it and more than made up for missing out on ronaldinho.
Then we did it again with Rooney and I was convinced fergie would get Torres to complete the triumvirate but we ended up with that @#%&! tevez instead Still don't think we make enough of these kind of signings. De Gea would be in that category. |

Re: Which transfer has got you the most 'excited'?
I wasn't particularly happy with the signing of Veron. I actually hated the fact he was treated as a legend without kicking a ball or winning a trophy. I hated the fact we spent 28million on him.
Ronaldo was exciting because we'd seen him against us for Sporting but he was still young. I agree with what someone said about a flurry of signings. That gets me more than just one signing I think. If it was to be one signing, I'd say Cole. We'd already won 2 leagues and a double and were well placed. That game against Blackburn a couple of days later was one of my favourites too! |

Gordon McQueen and Joe Jordan. I was just a kid, and they were giants.
Stapleton was a biggie for me too. On a slightly different track, what transfer speculation and subsequent let down left you feeling the most deflated? For me it was Shearer '96, Lineker and Brady in the 80's. |

When Celio Silva fell through I remember being Most gutted transfer collapse (seeing what he went on to do with Chelsea) - Robben. Most gutted at the time - Shearer, no doubt. Thought he was going to force a move to United. |

Jordan & McQueen (great shout) - the McQueen quote everyone wants to play for us no matter who they are with, even though we're shit and never win anything
Nearly all of Atkinsons, funnily enough, again the we can get who we want. the 96 crowd, ole, probby, jordie, johnny, Euro coolness here we come. Was in the leeds end that year when we £#%&!ed em and brown suit got sacked, the sheep £#%&!gers were going ballistic about our signings compared to theirs (a washed out sharpy Andy cole - as said out of the blue, keegan talking to the fans on the steps, the @#%&!s with the cole tattoos RVN & Veron - Euro domination nailed on Thought Eric would last half a season |
