He was ok... but he could become Roy Keane?

Rice was good but comparing him to Keane? No, different player, closer to Matic(of now) really, but quicker and more ambitious in his play. Keane was significantly better athletically, especially before the knee injury and technically superior as well.

Looks a good player though.

On a side note I was watching a Utd v Newcastle game on YouTube during a train journey the other day and Nicky Butt stood out to me. Much better footballer than I recalled him being, lovely first touch, beastly slide tackler and always looking for the early pass forward. 23 yo Nicky Butt would be a major upgrade on what we have, let alone Keane.

Hungry until woodward gives him a ridiculously inflated contract.

And Timo Werner and Kai Havertz, add some German efficiency.

Is he really that good?

Admittedly I haven’t seen a great deal of him, but what I have seen he’s just your basic English defensive mid? I’d much rather we sign someone that can dictate the tempo from deep.

Just watched a highlight vid and it's clear he's a central Wan Bisaka. Nowt wrong with that.

Do we need McTommyknockers with him playing? I would imagine not. As you say, one of our midfielders would need a bit more vision and class.

Break up attacks, play the easy pass. That is all we need. We do not require Platini in there.

Yeah... he’s pretty good

But Ole would probably play him as an attacking midfielder with Pogba sitting deep
