Agreed. Midweek top of the table clash. 60 000 there on a Wednesday night, as I recall. I was in the scoreboard end.

No, it was a Saturday. That’s why the programme says 3pm kick-off.

Definitely a Satterdeh. Might have been a midweek cup game?

Two entertaining, attacking sides going at it. Full house and sounded like it.

Also, remember the away game that season. We’d just signed Ron Davies 5 years too late. Horrified at the sight of him coming out of the tunnel for his debut, looking more like Bernard Manning. Oddly subdued 0-0 score line.
