Probably cried looking at pics of Poch and the good old days. All that hard work undone. Welcome to the club lads - they’ve even tried to deal with it like us, handing the reins over to a, erm, “club legend”.

  • Tottenham players were left bored and untested by his training sessions
  • Most of squad were expecting his sacking
  • Tactics were so obsessed with stopping opposition that players were unsure how to attack
  • Mourinho’s assistant Joao Sacramento was unpopular with the squad
  • The club were unhappy with Mourinho’s criticism of the players and asked him to stop it
  • Mourinho ran out of allies at the club, on and off the pitch
  • Only Harry Kane was loyal to Mourinho at the end
  • His dismissal had nothing to do with the Super League and was based purely on results
Quote:
As the reality of Mourinho’s methods became apparent, it did not take long for the Tottenham players to pine for the days of Pochettino.

Under the Argentinean, the team had a clear philosophy of play which they would work on perfecting every day. Under Mourinho, that went out of the window. His approach was to tailor different tactics to every single opponent, designed to exploit their own distinct weaknesses. Players remarked that as they got closer to every match, the atmosphere was increasingly marked by fear of what might go wrong. Spurs were so fixated on what the opposition might do, they forgot to focus on their own game.

Throughout the Mourinho era, Tottenham looked unsure of what to do with the ball or how to build up play from the back.
Exactly what it was like watching his United.

That doesn't surprise me about Kane, he seems a bit of a teacher's pet to me.

Levy made a vanity decision to hire him. Wanted him for years and finally got his chance. Moyes got the West Ham job around the same time and the comparison between the two just shows how far Mourinho has fallen.

He made comments about how the players he was inheriting there were better than what he had at United. It's glorious his final defeat was at the hands of Ole.

Or maybe the risk of him being able to boast that he was "a winner at all his clubs" was still too big?

Odd that the entire squad have taken to insta to say how much they’ll miss him and what a pleasure it was to work for him

A few United players did the same.

Just players protecting their image.

Well they're hardly gonna come and say they're over the £#%&!ing moon are they?

Besides, don't all the players have 'people' who write their tweets/gram for them?

One of the most disgusting decisions in football history.

Spurs gained many enemies this week.

May the whole super league thing blow up in their faces.

You are probably not the biggest Mourinho fan but sacking him a few days before the cup final he took them to? A cup final he already has been preparing for a long time? A club he has beaten twice recently and knew he was set to end Spurs trophy drought?

No man. YOU guys must be better than this.

This is truly disgusting and I hope Levy gets what he deserves.

His treatment of Poch was probably a warning. If he would do that to a man who lifted Spurs to new heights. What is Mourinho and his short tenure there.

£#%&! Spurs and Daniel Levy.

History will show that we won't ever be as big as we were in 2017 winning 3 trophies. That was United.

Many trying to rewrite history. The good thing is that history is written by the victors.
