He seemed to want Fellaini since he became manager but instead of signing him for 23.5 million in July and having him for the full pre-season we wait until the last hour of the transfer window before paying 4 million more than the buyout

That's before we get to his choice of ball playing midfielder. We could have got Thiago but Moyes wasn't sure so once he left we went for a player we had no chance of getting in Fabregas and wasted weeks on that complete farce

Now on the last day of the window we decide to go for some Bilboa midfielder who is a pretty good midfielder but not great but we don't understand the legalities of buyout clauses in Spain so that deal collapses

And finally we make a late bid for Coentrao on loan after not getting Baines but funnily enough we were too £#%&!ing late in going for him

An absolute shambles from start to finish and Moyes takes his share of the blame along with Woodward :shakehead:
It's a mess. I don't know how you go from Cesc or Herrera to Fellaini either, but it's his signing and we'll see how he goes.

That's not really my main issue with him, tbh. I don't think Mourinho or Guardiola have a particularly good or imaginative track records in the market, either. Moyes has worried me on various levels throughout the last few weeks. I hope this isn't going to be a complete disaster.

I'd imagine he didn't want such a player because of the effect it would have on his future transfer budgets.

Woodward has the exact same football experience gill did in his first few months in charge. The only difference between the two is united had money to burn back then.

The people who run the club don't deserve to be successful.

Moyes was hired so they could £#%&! him about like this.

There's no way the glazers can oversee a transition from Giggs, Ferdinand, vidic, evra, carrick, rooney, van Persie to a new team over the next two-three years on the budgets they want to spend on transfers. They can't afford to replace those ageing players with someone of the same standard. It would take about 150-200 million. So, the glazers will be happy with the top 4 these next two years, looking to spend as little as possible whilst they try to sell the club. And they can blame that dip on moyes whilst doing so.

The club has plenty of money now ffs. The owners aren't interested in spending it on players though, they prefer to keep it themselves.

After all the work they did on the thiago deal, they still didn't understand how the spanish buyout clause worked?

Why would they want to sell the club when it will make them millions?

Obviously. The money gets used elsewhere, so there's little financial flexibility in transfer negotiations.

All our best players are the wrong side of 30. The team's going to slide as they are replaced by players of an inferior standard. The club is at its peak value now before the slide happens. Unless you think they'll be investing the necessary funds in the transfer market to adequately replace these players in the next 3 years.

Players of ferdinands quality in his prime cost more than the glazers are prepared to pay. United spent 30 million on him 11 years ago. Can you see the glazers spending even that amount on a defender? And that's not allowing for the fact transfer market inflation and the increase in our income makes today's equivalent fee around 50 million. And then there's all the other ageing players and weaknesses to address in relatively quick succession. They won't be able to maintain the 'brand' value.

The only positive in all of this is that the gimps have £#%&!ed themselves here.

Average manager, average coaches, signing average players for insane money means average results. Frogson kept the chancers afloat but now they're £#%&!ed.

They will be gone within 2 years along with moyes IMO.

Everton haven't been shit for quite some time. They also played some nice football under Moyes including last years goal of the season which was a slick passing move.

Some of you and I'm looking directly at you here just want to moan and whinge all the time.

That's fine, crack on, fill your boots over the next 12 days or so because ill tell you something there won't be anything to moan about very soon.

See you back here after the derby to re discuss.
