Didn't play enough games and struggled with the pressure IMO.

Always gave us his best, worked his socks off and just never happened for him.

Never given a proper chance.. Was given one chance and went on a run of scoring in 5 games on the run.. And then was dumped back on to the bench.. It also did'nt help that fergie went with his 4-5-1 formation around this time and in the process flogged Ruud into the ground..

Apart from the Anfield adventure I remember the injury time winner against Chelsea early 2003 which was the start of the run to the title. Fantastic pass from Seba and finish from Diego - oh what might have been.

Was never going to get a proper chance with Ruud there though.

TBF to Fergie, Forlan often had a problem even controlling the ball at United.

He simply wasn't up to it.
