I don't think we are shit. We lack quality alright, we're weak and fragile and a bit young, but the team has done surprisingly well in spite of that and you can see there are players there that are capable of being good players in a top team and the overall attitude amongst the players is much better, IMO. I like a fair few of these players.
The lad has had games and might've had more if he hadn't played so badly in all but one of them. Flirting with other clubs isn't going to help his cause in terms of playing more either - it's not exactly the kind of behaviour a manager can reward. It's depressing that so many talented young players have pushed to get away before establishing themselves in the first team in recent years.
Whether it's the influence of agents or just a generation more inclined to circumvent than overcome difficult circumstances, the club has to do more to protect itself against this kind of thing. They either need to give longer contracts to begin with, or build in options to extend, or look to renew earlier.
