Any word on the value of this deal, or has it disappeared into the Cayman Islands never to return?

Surprisingly, no. United usually love to boast about how much they're raking in from new sponsors etc. Perhaps this isn't an improvement on the Aon deal, so they're keeping it hush hush for the moment.

I wonder what it was about this deal that got the fella who signed it the sack? This deal wasn't mentioned in the IPO document either. Perhaps this is another indicator that the club have put the kibosh on that idea? Another £30 million well spent

Also, Grimson's tax dollars are now helping pay off United's debts

why do a deal for 7 years at this stage? there has to be built in increases otherwise it's a bit daft. the TV deals run out long before it will end for a start off.

any word on where the people around chevrolet hide their money btw?

£28m a year for 7 years apparently.

Say hello to Lucas and RVP if even half that is paid upfront.

Big Watcher spot on as per

From The Telegraph:

Quote:
Exact figures have not been disclosed by United or Chevrolet, but it is understood that the deal is worth in the region of £28m-a-year and that the deal was accelerated by General Motors following the impact of United’s visit to China last week for the Chevrolet Cup tie against Shanghai Shenhua in Shanghai.

Aon, who paid almost half of the £80m sponsorship fee to United in their first year of their agreement, did not counter a rival offer to Chevrolet in order to extend their deal, but they are to continue their association with United through the club’s charitable foundation.

New nike deal coming up aswell, presumably Adidas will try to muscle in on that so wouldn't be surprised to see more record breaking deals.

Probably starts at £25m and reaches £28m a year by the end of it.
