Squad: Lindegaard, Amos, Johnstone, Ferdinand, Veseli, Vermijl, Wootton, Blackett; Valencia, Anderson, Carrick, Scholes, Powell, Kagawa, Bebe, Tunnicliffe, Lingard, Brady, Petrucci; Berbatov, Chicharito, Macheda.

Reds' attacker Bebe is also included after returning to Old Trafford from a loan spell with Turkish outfit Besiktas last season.

The 22-man squad will leave Manchester airport destined for Durban where United kick-off their tour, before further stops in Cape Town and the Chinese city of Shanghai.

Sir Alex's men will take on AmaZulu FC in Durban on Wednesday night, before a friendly with Ajax Cape Town on Saturday. The Reds' final stop on the first part of their pre-season tour - the second will include visits to Norway, Sweden and Germany next month - will be in Shanghai to face Shanghai Shenhua on Wednesday week.

Jesus we'd want to have a few defenders back for the Barca game.

Yup. Played a few time, was injured a bit and looked to be gone, but apparently is worth a place on tour

He's Swiss isn't he? He's just available to go on tour I guess whereas M Keane and Thorpe were off with England. Reece Brown must be going on loan I guess, and Josh King.

Normally by the time the Pre-season comes around I'm desperate to have the Football back, I genuinely couldn't £#%&!ing care less this year - first time ever.

The same old faces + another batch of wide-eyed young players for Fergie to talk up only for them to never play... wtf are Anderson, Berbatov, Bebe & Macheda still doing here ffs?

In fairness we wouldn't have enough players for a touring squad without them, without resorting to 16 and 17 year olds. That and the fact that nobody has bid for them as yet.
