Tbf he had a few good games in a league where you can stroll about drinking espresso and picking your nose.

He was a good captain tbf. Led by example on the pitch with consistent solid performances. A dependable player for his managers. A players' player...Off the pitch we dont know what happens...

But also says it all we have a squad full of snowflake fannies . Mourinho was right about some of those players.

Unreliable @#%&!s.

Early days but Bruno seems very vocal on the pitch, good signs... wasnt he Sporting Lisbon's Captain?

Our best centre-backs from best to worst:

Maguire, Smalling, Bailly, Lindelof, Rojo, Jones.

If you ignore the crippling lack of confidence Smalling instilled in the defence and the routine brain farts he delivered each and every match then yeah, that looks about right.

Don't think we are a team to get pushed around anymore got some great physical tacklers and Fred rushed in to protect Martial - never a booking.

Bailly is an utter loon- the stepover in the penalty area and the tackle - very likeable but mental.

Thought that last night, we seem to have some bottle back. Even it it's was a bit stupid in places (Slabhead).

Opposition players hobbling about the pitch with sore legs and busted noses, getting involved in some handbags in defence of one another.

And Captain forehead himself constantly getting at the referee, we've not had that since Wazza.

Seems to be a proper team ethic forming at the moment in the squad. Paper-thin and still lacking quality, but it's better than what we've had for a few years imo.

That was very weird, the kind of thing you try in a 5-a-side game for a laugh (then get %@#$&!ed by your mates)

This. Really looked like they were determined to get the win and were not going to back down. Great to see.

Still think Smalling is better tbh. Played well last night though and the 4 clean sheets in a row is something to build on but let’s be real when he’s getting outpaced next week by Troy Deeney he’s back to being a useless @#%&!

Yeah but you probably think Biggar is a better 10 than Farrell so your judgement is pretty questionable.

PS Biggar actually a better footballer than Smalling but so is Devon Toner

Clearly £#%&!ing chuffed to have scored- went over to the United end where someone managed to climb over and promptly fall down the gap at the front in the netting, was stranded like a beached sea creature.

Would like to see him and Bailly til the end of the season.

Maguire and Lindelof isn't a good partnership.

All depends on whether Bailly can stay fit but I’d like to see them have a run too

He has the attributes that could make them a good partnership.

Been better since he's got the captaincy.

Playing with a bit more authority and confidence and we're finally seeing some of this much ballyhooed quality on the ball.

He's still slow as £#%&! and prone to sleepy moments, but he's growing into the role and his goal was a proper goon for me. More that, please.

They complement each other better. That bailly tackle second half came from Maguire slacking. If that was Lindelof, he'd have been right there with him.

Are we? He’s defended well, passed it straight out of play less, but quality?

I think it's improved in the last few games, yes. And I've been criticising that aspect of his game for a while.
