Thumbs up Patrice Evra - Truly mental

Quote:
PATRICE EVRA put Manchester United’s Champions League win down to divine intervention — and said he would have quit European football had they lost.

French left-back Evra, 27, capped a superb season by playing a major role in Wednesday’s dramatic shootout triumph.

He said: “The key moment was when John Terry missed his penalty. Had he scored there would have been nothing left for us to do and Chelsea would have become European champions.

“But the good Lord came to our assistance and helped us out. It was an incredible experience.

"It was my second final after playing for Monaco against Porto in 2004.

"I said if I ended up on the losing side again I would turn into an unlucky black cat.

“Had we lost I don’t know whether I could ever have faced playing Champions League football again.

“I dedicated the win to my wife and also to Prince Albert of Monaco.

"After we lost the 2004 final, he said ‘You could at least have won it for my father Prince Rainier’.

"That touched me so I share this win with the Prince and my former Monaco mates.”
What a star

Quality little headcase.

From http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/7414520.stm

Evra added: "It was good, I didn't really party a lot because after Friday I need to go with the national team. I don't drink alcohol anyway."

Imagine him with a few pints in him!

£#%&!ing brilliant.

Not one sane brain cell in him, but I reckon that's what makes him such an energetic player.

Gonna be a legend.

Was apparently asked getting off the plane, by a reporter, how his hangover was.
Proceeded to give the reporter a lecture of the evils of drink.

Yep, said something along the lines of 'I didn't drink when my son was born, I don't drink when Manchester win the Champions League.'
