They didn't have to agree the contract mate. Using a pandemic to steal his wages - whatever they are - it is a £#%&!ing shitty thing to do.

It’s shitty, but ‘the most reprehensible thing I’ve heard of in football’ might be a bit OTT.

Raphinha moving might just force Barca to accept that they need this money rather sharpish....

Clearly, he’s attainable. May as well call our new manager useless if he isn’t.

Barca and Chelsea seem to be under the impression de Jong doesn’t get a say. Not a chance he chooses Chelsea over ten hag and man united. Doesn’t mean he won’t end up at Chelsea, but it’s united’s deal to f*** up.

And not sure why Barca think they turn the screw on united via Chelsea if ten hag is in frequent contact with de Jong. Wouldn’t say much for de Jong if he screws over ten hag after all this time.

I never thought a transfer could top the Sancho transfer 'saga' which ran for 2 years in terms of zzzzz's. This one is even more dull and it's only been a couple of months.

Stunned...

He's not coming, is he? It's becoming increasingly obvious.

I've been quite impressed with how United have gone about business this summer so far.

Actually trying to sign players the manager wants. Not overpaying and waiting to bid after smaller clubs like Lyon and Arsenal have already had offers accepted.

Not panicking when Barca are £#%&!ing around playing silly beggars.

Augurs well.

Impressed? All we've done is sign a cheap left back that most haven't heard of. If you're happy with that you're easily impressed.

Could be a couple of more in over the next few days pal. And we're very far down the line with Frenkie. Its a shame he isnt already here but thats due to Barcelona, not us.

IMO we appear more professional than in previous years. No surprise given they have a proper coach and one they want to back. Uniteds scouts preferred Pau Torres but we will be signing Martinez because thats who the coach wants.

It's what we haven't done this summer that's been impressive.

Looks like we may not be making the same mistakes that we've repeated for the last 10 years
