Besiktas have lost their best player and top scorer, with little hope of replacing him with a player of similar standard.

As Ziggy says, if he does well at United his value is going to rocket compared to what it would have done at Besiktas. Plus he’s gaining Premier League experience in case Burnley come up next year and decide to keep him.

Deffo a good deal for Burnley I’d say.

Larsson was very good when he came imo. Didn't score that many admittedly, but definitely brought a touch of class.

Wasn't that still during the period where each team got a certain number of medals? I may be remembering this wrong but I think at the time you also had to make something like eight league appearances to qualify for one. If that was the case, it wasn't up to Fergie.

Pretty sure it was.

He wasn’t amazing obviously, but he was decent and was another squad option.

There was a big thing at the time about Fergie valuing his contribution so much he applied for extra medals for him (and Alan Smith) from the PL.

But Larsson has since confirmed he never received everything. Fergie probably couldn’t be arsed going the post office

Larson was only around two months, pretty sure he wouldn't have played enough to qualify.

I thought he was all right, we needed an extra body when Saha got crocked. Not the greatest short term loan in Premier League history or anything, though probably ours.

So fergie did apply?
