Apparently the club didn't want to host games as they were unsure whether we'd be expanding the stadium at the time.

The reality is that the Etihad is a much better option. Old Trafford is a dump.

The reality is fans from europe will still prefer to visit OT than the etihad, even if it doesnt have an onsite micro brewery and cheese court. anfield also

Expect a leak of OT stadium expansion plans, 2 or 3 days before the tournament starts, plans that will look remarkably similar to the last time the gimps needed a bit of PR.
