the Cavani signing was another example why we desperately need a director to football to come in and help Ole if everyone at the club is convinced he’s the guy, cause that signing made no sense

i get we needed cover but signing a striker like him who doesn’t play that well back to goal, thrives on balls over the top of defences or crosses into the box which we don’t do well either was baffling

add to that his age, injury record and the fact that although his goals scoring numbers are impressive when you dig a bit you’ll find he misses a lot of chances and we don’t really create enough in the first place

personally i would let him leave at the end of the season but if he has to stay he can’t get anything longer than a 1 year extension imo

Genuine question Tronics.

Can you give me an example of a succesful Director of Football, working on a limited budget that is at a succesful team in a top tier league in Europe?

I was pissed off when we signed him because of the lack of ambition it showed, but in hindsight he was a decent signing for a year when we needed another centre forward.

Run it's course now though, no way we should be giving him another year.

Can £#%&! off imo. Hugely overrated for a couple of tap ins and a belter v Everton in the cup. Can't stay fit.

Made sense at the time, and could've been a masterstroke, feels like he's played about 10 games, max though. Get that wage off the books.

Tbf he has already achieved more than Falcao did, not that doing so is especially onerous.
