The point is that we spend a fortune in tranches. Keeps the sponsors happy but average it all out and we're not the big spenders we make ourselves out to be.

That's why we'll never have a DOF, as I've been saying for a long time now.

Would you take the job? NDA on all funding issues. Taking the flack for not spending... Freg's 'there was no value' line didn't go down too well, imagine it coming out of anyone else's mouth.

We've scatter gunned a shit ton of money since Fergie left. Utter panic stations.

but if you want to have any aspirations about challenging City or winning something important, then we need more. You can put any manager you like in charge of manchester united and they'd still need more money, regardless.

Convenient that all monies pertaining to the Sanchez fiasco can be left off this particular table..

Somewhat agree, but part of United's problem is also the belief that we need to always spend our way out of trouble. The reason Mourinho gets little to no sympathy on this issue is there is a tremendous amount of talent at the club not fulfilling its potential.

Matic was supposed to 'free' Pogba. Sanchez was supposed to be the missing piece of the jigsaw. At some point we need to stop looking at the chequebook as the answer to our problems and develop an overhead strategy, while the coaching staff need to perform better.

No idea if the table is accurate anyway. I thought Mahrez at £60m was City's only summer signing?
