Default I'm gonna put my neck on the line

And claim Michael Owen will be a great signing for us. He will score goals but that's not all he'll do. He'll add an extra dimension to the team. His pace will be the perfect foil for Berbington's guile. He's also quite an intelligent player in and around the box.

Having been against it, and kinda still am, it's a very smart signing. Kinda like signing Andy Cole in 94-95

Got to agree with Marlo here.

What pace is this? Maybe 5 years ago - but he's lost any pace he had.

Washed up little scouse @#%&!. Still - lets hope he does well for us, and you're right.

I'm gonna put Tevez's neck on the line (although it looks like someone beat me to it ) & predict that Owen will make a reasonable start in the shirt.
Maybe half a dozen goals in his first 10-15 games.

After that I expect him to fall away & his lack of pace to be exposed.
I think it's a gamble by Fergie & I can't see it coming off.

Owen has lost some of his pace, he hasn't had his legs chopped off.

Owen will score more goals than Tevez next season.

No blue (only 3 offered to be fair) has accepted that bet yet.

Better bet is goals to starts ratio in case Owen gets injured.

He's no where near as fast as he was but he will be noticeably quicker than Tevez and Berbatov.

Still can't believe some of you @#%&!s claimed that Berbs was anything other than slow as £#%&!. Backing it up with that clip against Spurs, he must have been assisted by wind and running down hill for that to happen.

I too think not only Owen but Valencia too will be a success. Will sore as many as Ronald and Trev did last year between em.

He's not slow. And neither is Berbatov. He just takes a £#%&!ing age to get out of 1st gear...maybe typified our season last year

Tevez is painfully slow. He used to rely on a quick burst of pace and then use his strength/tenacity to stay infront of players but even that has deserted him now. Owen could out run the @#%&! whilst giving John O'Shea a piggy back.

John O'Shea would like this very much.
