I'm still missing something here. Is there a suggestion we are getting rid of Tevez to sign Berbatov or summat? Otherwise i don't see the issue in adding a forwrad to the squad given that it was obvious we were light there last season?

Oh, and for the record, I would've picked Shearer. The funny thing is both Shearer and Berbatov chose the path that has led them away from United to a relatively success free existence. Like Shearer, he should continue to suffer.

That's not the point.

Rooney, Tevez Combo works in so many ways as defenders can't keep a track of them and there quick movement and passing gets through. BUT there will be times where that doesnt work so the Rooney,tevez/Berbatov combo would be very useful in a way where Rooney could drop deeper where berbatov pushes the defence deeper creating space for Rooney. They are as good as each other. So if we do get Berbatov. I really don't think there will be settled partnership.

this was the point i would put forward after the poll had finished.

if tevez is better how many would want us to fork out £25m on a 27 year old who wouldnt even be first choice and isnt the type to like being a squad player?

mate, I don't know how many times tevez and rooney combo worked really well.

I would say very few. In the top matches, even against decent teams, it was ronaldo that saved us rather than rooney and tevez combo. Infact, I would say in the top matches, fergie perferred not to use that combo at all as in the champions league knock out matches.

The only matches I remember where the combination worked a treat was at home matches like boro, wigan etal.
