No wonder they don't post on here anymore with all the stick they are getting.

(much of it justified, mind)

Their best player by miles tonight apparently, the penalty came from him covering after Martial’s marker lost him..

Why the £#%&! are our players playing internationals having not even started preseason at United?

Our biggest priority to replace for me. A top quality CB to partner Maguire would make so much difference to the quality right through to the mentality of our team imo.

Surely the centre backs behind him who’ll never get back in the team are a bigger priority, no?

No, he can take one of their places as backup.

Agreed

Lindelof is Everton standard, at best.

I like him as a player but we really need a big strong centre back to dominate the striker and the area at set pieces we look to vulnerable to crosses coming in. Though we could improve things by cutting down the crosses and AWB and Shaw not going awol at the back post.

Yep, he's been good the past few weeks imo. Quitely gone about doing a very solid job next to the slab. If Bailly could do the impossible and stay fit then we would have three extremely good options at the back and all of a sudden we don't need to rush out and buy another.

Lindelof is a very good CB defensively and on the ball but he's physically soft and a @#%&! when it comes to dealing with physical strikers...he thrives against the quicker more agile strikers because he has the pace to deal with them

that's the one and really only glaring thing that stands out

Bailly has the ability to handle both types of strikers as he's physically strong and has pace.....he just can't stay fit and mentally is soft as times with stupid challenges

Spot on.

Meld them and we have a half decent centre back. I believe we have the technology.

Credit where it’s due, he’s been very good recently.

Still think he will get bullied by a certain sort of player, but yeah his name on the team sheet doesn't cause the existential dread it once did.
