Don't think I've ever seen him play, seem to recall him getting rave reviews earlier in the season?

Definitely more the type of profile we should be targeting to a larger extent imo.

Broke into the Newcastle team in Jan IIRC and settled in immediately, MOTM when they beat City. Drawn lots of comparisons with Carrick

There are some very good young foreign players out there they should be going for. Instead we are competing with leeds and everton for a swansea winger and enquiring about someone who has played 10 games for newcastle due to an injury...
You'd have passed Alli up because he was playing for Mk Dons then?

A team like tottenham can afford to take the chance. Finding a hidden gem like that is highly unlikely. For all the dele allis you forget about the dross they sign. The team is on the edge of the most important summer its its history. They have to get it right or we will become like liverpool.

Now isnt the time to take a chance on players. There are good young players out there who play very well and on top of that have the potential to raise their game

To be fair you're talking about Tottenham as if they haven't gradually become a better club than us over the past five years, reality is we have £#%&!ed money down the drain on worse players than Spurs have gambled on. And what dross have they signed? They didn't sign anyone at all last year and since Pochettino took over can only think of Wimmer and Janssen (don't know how to spell either and they're not good enough for me to google) who have been out and out bad signings for them. Even Sissoko has ended up working out wel for them

You talk about these good young players as if it would be a breeze to sign them, but the ones that stand out probably have their pick of teams to go to. We are a risky proposition right now, no CL football and it's not an anomaly at this point, we have clearly been in decline for several years now. I see nothing wrong with getting some young English talent in and seeing how it goes, because ultimately it brings us closer to getting Ashkey £#%&!ing Young out of this club.

I have every confidence that Longstaff will be as successful as previous young signings potential to go along with Depay, Shaw, Martial and Bailly.

Just because other clubs go for them doesnt mean united shouldnt. Youre talking about pinning hopes on a player thats played 9 times foe newcastle and has / currently undergoing treatment for a cruciate injury.

Whilst the likes of barcelona are signing de jong and de ligt . Players who have won the league and played in the champions league and held their own.

I would love to be wrong about this. But this is a manchester united with ed woodward handling transfers and a piss poor recruitment process.

Combine that with ole " everything must be done like how it was when ferguson was here because he is the gaffer" solskjaer and its a recipe for disaster

Who is pinning hopes on him? Literally no one has said that. He's a young player with potential who might end up being decent for us. Am sure we probably were interested in De Ligt etc but you think we can compete with Barcelona right now when we can't even compete with £#%&!ing Chelsea and Arsenal in our own league?

Try to be a bit more specific mate. What was it about his performances you didn’t like after watching him so many times?
