Thumbs down David Degea Contract

United tell David De Gea they will not make him the club's best-paid player.

He deserves it but if not cash in, promote Serge.

Spend the cash.

Woodward is understood to feel that he miscalculated in meeting Sanchez's salary demands as a near free agent, and wants to avoid repeating an error that has resulted in considerable dressing room friction.
He really is a clueless little numpty. I can't see the dressing room kicking off at De Gea getting top dollar, Ed.

Overpaid for Sanchez so better to lose De Gea. Genius.

Calling his bluff.

Is he really going to get anywhere close to 350k anywhere else?

Those two would be mad not to throw obscene wages at him for a free transfer.

It probably is a bluff move. The money saved on his wages would need to be spent for a fraction of the cost of a new goalkeeper. Nobody at the club would have an issue with DDG being one of the joint-top earners. Just get it done.

I'd heard De Gea wages were agreed but the agent fees were the issue. Dave happy to stay and sign.

Could have tied him up for much less in 2017 as Big Dunc points out.

Woodward really is £#%&!ing scum.

Go on, look at the market dipshit. £72m for £#%&!ing Kepa, £65m for Alisson.

De Gea goes for £150m+ in this market.....

And this #@&%! wants us to lose him for nada.

Yep.

Whilst Woodward is an odious Glazer stooge, he’s actually made some very good decisions recently; specifically, getting Martial to sign a new deal, and simultaneously getting Pogba reinvested in the club and ridding us of The Virus.

No chance he will be willing to lose De Gea. Woodward wants to win the fans over, and he’ll do what it takes to get De Gea signed. It’s negotiation time at the moment, and given the fact we’ve handed out contracts like confetti recently, I’d be stunned if we don’t end up giving De Gea what he wants; he’s actually the only player that’s deserved it.
