Wayne Rooney is world class when he's played as a striker. He has proven this for many years now.

The rest of his game is far too erratic to be considered world class though. He can do a job in other positions and also be very effective in the role so many strangely think is his best - just off the front - as well. But only as a striker is he close to being, in most aspects, as good as there is imo.
