Yeah. An overuse induced stress fracture on the lower leg of the treatment table meant it couldn’t be used to wheel the malingering @#%&! out to the centre circle before the game.

Utterly absurd situation and one that sums up post Fergie United.

Still can’t help having a soft spot for the lad though.

Fair play, kind of respect United sticking by him through his obvious struggles....

Godspeed Philip.

Pretty funny but also annoying that he’s stayed at the club for so long.

If he was from another country he’d have had his bags backed for him about 7 years ago. It’s easy to pull on the heart strings with how he won the league with us and how tough he’s had it but the reality is that he’s been very fortunate.

Good luck and good riddance.

Must have been hell for him getting paid £100k a week to basically use a gym for all these years.

We'll never forget you occasionally filling in for Vidic or Ferdinand for the 2013 league title. And the £#%&! up for the 2018 FA Cup final.

With the angels now. No more tears.

Why is he thanking his wife in a “letter to the fans”? You live with her, you £#%&!ing tit.

“Ooooh, I wonder if the missus can pick me up some Pikelets from Morrison. Best get the PR department to draft a quick statement and stick it on Instagram, should get her attention”

Can’t stand him. In any other profession he’d have been £#%&!ed off years ago. Not sure why United should be a charity or a £#%&!ing retirement home for people who are vastly overpaid anyway.

Good riddance, bye.

Exactly, he will have wrote zero percent of it.

Ghost writer never been so apt.

His career basically finished when he was 22. Must have been a bit of a weird mind£#%&! for him, for all the riches he's received. Got a sports massage what must have been 10 years ago from a guy who'd worked with Phil -- Phil refused to let anyone go near his legs. They've basically always been £#%&!ed. Beyond belief really that the club kept extending his professional contract

Feels a bit more retirement than just leaving the club tbh.

Do you seriously think he will get another contract somewhere else?
